The National Defense Authorization Act of 2017 has been signed into law by President Obama and effective January 1, 2017, all active duty and active reservists will receive an increase of 2.1% in base pay. This increase will appear in the January 2017 Leave & Earning Statements (LES), but managers of affordable housing properties verifying pay with LESs from prior to January should apply the increase when projecting annual income. When adding the increase to the base pay, the new amount should be rounded to the nearest dollar.
